Homestyle Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Mazola corn oil
  • 1 Cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (28 oz ea.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. In 5 qt. dutch oven, heat corn oil over med. high heat.

  2. Add onion and garlic; saute 3 min.

  3. Add remaining ingredients; bring to boil.

  4. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer; stirring occasionally, 45 min.

  5. Serve over spaghetti.
