Zebra Crunch

Tips: If chocolate chips are too thick and won’t drizze, stir in a little bit of Crisco to make them more liquid OR use 1 tbsp milk or a little more as needed, then whip w/ fork. Use fork to drizzle over cereal mix.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup br. sugar
  • 6 T. butter
  • 3 T. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 1/4 t. vanilla
  • 8 c. Crispex (or 6 c. crispex and 2 c. pretzels)
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Microwave first 3 ingredients 1-2 mins until butter is melted.

  2. Stir in baking soda and vanilla.

  3. Put cereal into microwave safe bowl.

  4. Pour “caramel” mixture over cereal and stir.

  5. Heat in micro 3 mins, stirring after each minute.

  6. Spread on large cookie sheet and cool.

  7. Melt 1/2 c. chocolate chips in micro and drizzle over cereal.

  8. Allow to cool completely then break up into pieces.
