Lynn’s Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped fine, fine, fine
  • a couple cloves of garlic
  • 2 lbs. meat (either beef or mix of beef, veal, and pork)
  • salt and pepper
  • parsley
  • basil
  • 1/4 c. wine or 1/3 c. brandy
  • 4-5 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. water
  • bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Directions

  1. Slowly cook onions and garlic in olive oil (or butter) until transparent.

  2. Brown meat; add salt and pepper, parsley, and basil. Cook until liquid disappears.

  3. Add wine and lower fire; add tomato sauce, paste, water, bay leaf, and sugar.

  4. Simmer for 1 hr.
