Hershey Kiss Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1, 8 oz. bag Hershey's Kisses
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tblsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Remove wrappers from Hershey Kisses.

  3. Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy.

  4. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.

  5. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.

  6. Shape dough into 1-in. balls; roll in granulated sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake 8-10 mins. or until lightly browned.

  8. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges.

  9. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cook completely.

  10. Makes approx. 4 dozen cookies.
