Puliyogare

Ingredients

  • vegetable oil - 2 tsp
  • mustard seeds - 2tsp
  • peanuts
  • turmeric and hingu - 1/4 tsp each
  • cooked rice - 2 cups
  • salt - 1tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • MTR Puliyogare powder (not paste) - 4 TBSP
  • tamarind paste - 1 tsp (optional, for more tang)

Directions

  1. cracke the mustard seeds in the oil

  2. add the peanuts, hingu, turmeric – roast until golden brown

  3. add cooked rice, salt, brown sugar, and MTR powder – mix well

  4. add the tamarind paste, if more tang desired
