Apple Crumble

Favourite – Substitute 5-6 cups fruits in season such as peaches or rhubarb. With rhubarb, add 1/2 cup sugar to fruit

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 6 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored, quartered
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup quick oats, uncooked
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0 .5 cup plain flour
  • 0.5 cup butter or margarine, chilled, cut into 6 pieces
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C. Slice apples and place in pie dish. Sprinkle lemon juice over apples.

  2. Position knife blade in food processor and add remaining ingredients. Process until crumbly, about 10 seconds. Crumble evenly over apples.

  3. Bake until apples are tender, 40-45mins. Serve warm or cold, plain or with ice cream.
