Crisp Candy-Corn Treats

Ingredients

  • Cooking Spray
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 c miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 tsp fine salt
  • 3 c crisp rice cereal
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • Yellow and Red food coloring
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest

Directions

  1. Lighting coat 5×9 loaf pan with cooking spray.

  2. Large saucepan melt butter over med.

  3. Add marshmallows and salt, stir until melted.

  4. Stir in rice cereal, immediately transfer to pan.

  5. Coat spatula with cooking spray, press into even layer.

  6. Rinse saucepan. Repeat above steps.

  7. To second batch add orange zest and enough yellow and red food coloring to tint marshmallows orange then add to pan.

  8. To third batch add lemon zest and enough yellow food coloring to tint marshmallow mixture yellow. Press into pan.

  9. Let set 2 hours or overnight.

  10. Run knife around edges of pan and move to cutting board.

  11. With serrated knife cut loaft into 10 slices.

  12. Cut each slice in half crosswise.

  13. Gently mold into candy corn shape.
