Johnny Marzetti

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 jar of spaghetti sauce (any choice)
  • 1 (14-ounce) can of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 bag of extra wide egg noodles
  • 1 small jar of Old English cheese
  • 1 32 oz bag of mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Johnny Marzetti is a casserole created in the 1920s by the owner of the Marzetti Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.

  2. Brown meat (drain liquid) and then add onions. Let cook until onions are translucent. Add Prego and the stewed tomatoes. Turn on low and let simmer for 5-10 mins.

  3. Cook egg noodles (They should not be completely done as they will bake later)

  4. Spray pan with cooking spray or butter well.

  5. Layer Ingredients in a 9 × 13 cake pan

  6. Spread half of the noodles evenly in pan

  7. Lightly coat noodles with Parmesan cheese (use more if you like a lot)

  8. Cover noodles with half the meat sauce evenly

  9. Use small chunks of the Old English cheese evenly placed (half of the jar)

  10. Sprinkle half the bag of mozzarella cheese evenly

  11. Repeat

  12. Bake in 350° oven for 20-25 mins (until cheese is brown on top)
