Mexi-Dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1 can 16 ounces refried beans
  • 1 can 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 package 1 1/4 ounces taco seasoning mix
  • Sour Cream Topping
  • finely shredded lettuce
  • shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Sour Cream Topping:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Directions

  1. Cook ground beef in 10 inch skillet, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. Stir in mustard, chili powder, onion, bell pepper, beans, tomato sauce and seasoning mix. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Spread in ungreased pie plate, 9 × 1 1/4 inches. Spread Sour Cream Topping over ground beef mixture. Sprinkle with lettuce and cheese. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetable slices if desired
