Brown Rice

Large Qty of Brown Rice
Liquid to Rice ratio is standard 2:1 – we use 1/2 chicken broth 1/2 water.

Cook time: 45 minutes
Serves 20 people

Ingredients

  • 4-Cups Brown Rice
  • 2-Cans 10.5oz Chicken Broth
  • 4 1/2 Cups Water
  • 2 tsp table salt
  • 1 tbsp light oil
  • 1 stick margarine

Directions

  1. Add Rice, Water, and Chicken Broth to Pressure cooker. Then add salt, butter and oil. Using large burner, Heat on High stirring occasionally.

  2. Once butter has melted, lock on the top, continue heating on high and bring up pressure.

  3. The very second pressure is attained (top starts a rockin’), set timer for 14 minutes and reduce cook temp to #4 (medium heat).

  4. After 14 minutes, simply turn off burner and let rice stand for 20+ minutes (do not move off of stove top).

  5. After pressure has naturally disappeared, open top and fluff.
