Chocolate Toffee Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lb bittersweet or semisweet chocolate
  • 1/4 c (1/2 a stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 3/4 c (packed) brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 5 (1.4 oz) chocolate-covered English toffee bars ( coarsely chopped)

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, & salt in a small bowl.

  2. Whisk to blend.

  3. Melt chocolate & butter together until smooth.

  4. Cool mixture to room temp.

  5. Using electric mixer, beat sugar & eggs in a bowl until thick.

  6. Beat in chocolate mixture & vanilla.

  7. Stir in flour mixture, toffee, & nuts.

  8. Chill batter until firm.

  9. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  10. Line 2 large baking sheets with waxed paper.

  11. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto sheets 2 inches apart.

  12. Bake.
