Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup marg
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup ice water
  • 2 1/2 lbs apple
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp marg
  • 1tsp + 1tbsp cornstarch

Directions

  1. Blend pastry. Roll into 2 rounds for 9" tin

  2. Combine apples, sugar and spices

  3. Macerate for 2 hours, then drain.

  4. Coat apples in cornstarch.

  5. Add juices

  6. Bake 220C on lowest shelf 45-55 mins
