White Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 pound gruyere cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 pound swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 can chopped green chiles
  • 1 cup dry white wine

Directions

  1. Preheat the slow cooker to high

  2. Slightly crush the garlic, and rub it on the inside of the slow cooker

  3. Discard the garlic

  4. In a seperate bowl, mix together the cheese, flour, pepper, cayenne, and chiles

  5. Set aside

  6. Heat the wine on the stove top until tiny bubbles form

  7. Do not boil

  8. Turn the slow cooker to low, and pour in the heated wine

  9. Immediately add the cheese mixture and stir until melted, about 3 minutes

  10. keep the fondue warm in the slow cooker until ready to serve, stirring frequently

  11. makes approximately 8 cups
