Texas Caviar

Serve chilled with crackers. Great holiday dip for parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 large jar picante sauce (med or hot)
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans black-eyed peas, drained
  • 1 (16 oz.) can white hominy, drained
  • 1 c. diced green bell pepper
  • 1 c chopped white onion
  • 1 c chopped fresh tomato
  • 1/2 c finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 c green onions, chopped (include the green tops)
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp ground cumin

Directions

  1. Mix everything together really well. Cover and chill for at least 24 hours so it can meld.

  2. Serve chilled.
