Mom’s pumpkin pie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp mace (can sub nutmeg or 1/2 tsp allspice)
  • 28 oz pureed pumpkin (Stokley's is best)
  • 1 cup table cream (18%)

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients. Lightly stir eggs and add to dry with liquids. Add pumpkin at end.

  2. Pour into a deep dish pie shell. (I used a store bought Tenderflake “deep dish” shell and I had to use two – with some filling left over. This makes a LOT of filling.)

  3. ke for one hour at 450F for the first 20 minutes then turn down to 325F for the next 40.

  4. DO NOT open the oven for the first 40 minutes!
