Caramel Death Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 10 oz caramels, approx 35
  • 1 pkg chocolate cake mix, 18.25 oz
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix cake mix, melted butter, and 2/3 cup evaporated milk in a bowl. Take half the very thick mix and add the nuts to it in another bowl. Spread the half with the nuts into the bottom of an ungreased 13X9 baking pan, it’s really thick.

  3. Bake for 15 min.

  4. Manwhile over low heat melt caramels (which you have painstakingly taken out of their little packages) and 1/3 cup evaporated milk until smooth.

  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked nut dough. Drizzle caramel on top. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining (nutless) cake mix on top.

  6. Bake for 25-30 min.

  7. Cool and cut.
