Cowboy Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried pinto beans, rinsed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 4 bacon slices, cooked and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Cover the beans with water and soak overnight

  2. In the morning, drain and rinse the beans

  3. Combine the beans with the onion, garlic powder, bacon, and water in the slow cooker

  4. Stir thoroughly

  5. Cover and cook on high for 7 to 8 hours

  6. Stir in the barbecue sauce

  7. Cover and cook on low for 1 to 2 more hours, or until the beans are tender

  8. Makes 4-6 servings
