Stew Beef

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 8 minutes
Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Beef chunks
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3 T butter
  • 4 medium carrots, cut into chunks
  • 3 small onions diced
  • 2 cans (14 1/2 oz.) Beef broth
  • 2 cups dry red wine
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 3 sprigs rosemary
  • 2 potatoes

Directions

  1. Season beef cubes lightly with salt and pepper

  2. Heat 2 T butter in heavy pot over medium heat

  3. Add half the beef and raise heat to high

  4. Cook until beef is browned on all sides

  5. Remove beef and add carrots and onions

  6. Pour in broth, wine and crushed tomatoes

  7. Add rosemary

  8. Put beef back in pot

  9. Add potatoes on top

  10. Cook until beef is done
