Pork Carnitas

This cooks for 6 hours in the slow cooker

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 360 minutes
Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 1- 3 lb. pork shoulder, cut into 2 inch chunks, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Sprinkle pork with salt, chili powder, & cumin. Place in slow cooker with onion & garlic. Cover & cook on low until meat is tender & falling apart, about 6 hours. Shred pork using 2 forks, serve hot in tortillas with salsa, sour cream, guacamole & cheese
