Strawberry Cream Cheese Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 125 g cream cheese, at room temperature.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature.
  • pinch salt
  • 2 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 tsp grated lemon, orange or lime zest

Directions

  1. Beat together cream cheese, butter and salt until creamy.

  2. With mixer on low speed, gradually beat in icing sugar.

  3. Increase to medium-high and beat until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in strawberry jam and lemon zest.

  5. Spread frosting over cooled cupcakes; refrigerate until ready to serve.
