New Chilli Con Carne (To be Adapted)

Ingredients

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1 chilli chopped
  • thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1tsp chilli powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 jar passatta
  • 200ml mixture of stock & red wine
  • 2 tblsp tomato puree
  • 400g beef mince
  • 400g kidney beans

Directions

  1. Fry onion, garlic, chilli & thyme in a saucepan.

  2. In a separate pan brown the mince.

  3. Add the powdered spices to the onion mixture and cook until they release their aroma.

  4. Add the beef to the saucepan.

  5. Add the passatta then cook for about 5 mins.

  6. Add the stock & wine mixture and the tomato puree.

  7. Stir well to combine.

  8. Add bay leaf & cinnamon stick.

  9. Once sauce begin to thicken add the kidney beans.

  10. Cook for 10mins.

  11. Season to taste
