Cinnamon Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (1 - 1.5 lbs)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp gound cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp raisins

Directions

  1. Combine the cinnamon, cloves, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

  2. Season the chicken on both sides with the spice mixture.

  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on one side, about 6 minutes.

  5. Turn the chicken and add the onion and garlic.

  6. Brown the second side of the chicken while stirring the onion and garlic, about 8 minutes.

  7. Add the orange juice and raisins; reduce heat to low.

  8. Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the juices run clear when the chicken is pierced with a knife.
