Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 peaches
  • 1/3 C sugar
  • Batter
  • 2 1/2 C Flour
  • 1 1/2 C Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Teas Baking Powder
  • 2 C milk
  • 1 stick of butter

Directions

  1. Slice your peaches (maybe 8 to 10 of them…I never measure) and put them in a pot. Cover them with water until just over the top of them. Add about 1/3 C of sugar or more to taste, and simmer until they’re semi soft. Set your stove to 350 degrees, and melt 1 stick of butter in a 13×9×2 baking dish in the oven. Remove from oven when melted.

  2. Mix together 2 and 1/2 C flour, 1 and 1/2 C sugar, 1 and 1/2 teas baking powder and 2 C of milk.

  3. Pour over melted butter and then spoon DRAINED peaches over the batter.

  4. Bake at 350 for 45 mins.

  5. I thicken the peach juice with a little corn starch (mixed with a little cold water)

  6. Serve with a little of the thickened juice over top of the cobbler. I sometimes will add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
