Marzapan

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup

Directions

  1. Combine softened butter and corn syrup. Stir in powdered sugar. (may need to work with hands). Chill in refrigerator to firm.
  2. Use for: Wrap 1/2 tsp. around well drained cherries, and dip in chocolate to make cordial cherries.

  3. Add 1 tsp. peppermint extract to mixture, form into balls and mash into discs. Chill to firm, then dip into melted chocolate for mint patties.
  4. Finely chop nuts, or hard candy and add to mixture. Then form balls, and dip in chocolate, or roll in cocoa or powdered sugar.
  5. Flavor with whatever extract you prefer, and dip or roll in coating to make truffles.
  6. Form in animal or other shapes, dip in colored melts for whimsical candies .
