Ingredients

  • 3 pkg. (8oz. each) Philli-gream cheese
  • 1 jar dried beef
  • (soak 10 minutes, then dice)
  • 1 bunch green onions, diced
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 sm. can chopped ripe olives
  • 1 tsp. MSG
  • 1 sm. can mushrooms, drained and chopped

Directions

  1. Chop the dried beef, green onions, mushrooms and olives and add them with the MSG to the cream cheese in a large bowl. With your hands, fold and knead until thoroughly mixed. Divide and form into 3 balls. Roll in the chopped pecans. Wrap in plastic wrap and then in foil.

  2. Refrigerate for several hours until firm. Serve with crackers or wafers.
  3. You may vary this recipe with any additions you like. For example, pimentos, green olives, or even hot pepper if you like. Or leave off anything you can’t eat such as the nuts. Rolling cheese ball in Panko bread crumbs will work if you can’t eat the nuts.
