Shortbread

old recipe from my mother’s favorites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup icing (powdered) sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter

Directions

  1. Sift all dry ingredients together. Cut in butter and mix until smooth and soft. Place in a plastic bag or wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
  2. When ready- roll out onto a floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning. Let cool and decorate as you wish.
