Caramel Apple Dump Cake with Spiced Wiped Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (opt.)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray. Add apple pie filling, caramel sauce, lemon juice, and cinnamon to pan. Mix together. Sprinkle with cake mix; cover with melted butter.
  3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on baking rack.
  4. To make spiced whipped cream, chill a large mixing bowl. Add heavy cream and whisk until it holds soft peaks. Then whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Serve dump cake with spiced whipped cram, a drizzle of extra caramel suce and a few pecans.
  5. Experiment with other pie fillings, and tweak the spices to suit.
