Peanut Butter and Applesauce Dog Treats

If these weren’t so dry, they might be okay for people, but they are a big hit with my dogs.

Ingredients
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups oats
- 1cup peanut butter
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp. baking powder
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix all ingredients until it makes a ball of dough. If it is too crumbly, add a tsp. at a time of olive oil until workable but not sticky.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured board and knead until it holds together well.
- Roll kneaded dough into 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into squares, or use a cookie cutters. I have a bone, foot print and hand print cookie cutter, but any fun shape would be okay.
- Bake 25 minutes until lightly brown. These refrigerate and freeze well. If they last that long.
