Fig- Strawberry Jello Jam

this comes from the fact I have a fig tree in my back yard.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh figs, chopped
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 2 pg. (3 oz. each) strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup juice (white grape or peach)

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, jell-O, strawberries and figs in a large pot. Cook on stove over medium to high heat. (Stir often enough to prevent sticking and burning).
  2. Bring to a full boil; 5 to 10 minutes. Reduce heat. Continue to boil 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat.
  3. Fill jars with hot jam and seal. Process jars in boiling water bath, 5 to 10 minutes. Cool, check seal, and store.
