Asian Flank Steak

Ingredients

  • ` Lb. flank steak
  • 1/4 cup sherry or apple juice
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp. dark sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed

Directions

  1. In a resealable plastic bag, combine steak, sherry or juice, soy sauce, honey, white vinegar, ginger, sesame oil and garlic; marinate in refrigerator 8 hours, turning occasionally. Remove steak from bag; reserve marinade.
  2. Place steak on broiler pan coated with cooking spray and cook 8 minutes per side, basting frequently with reserved marinade. Let steak rest 5 minutes before slicing across the grain.
  3. Meanwhile, boil the remaining marinade over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Serve steak with warm marinade.
  5. Per serving: about 277 cal., 26g protein, 10g fat, 20g carbs., 53mg cholesterol, 464mg sodium and no fiber.
