Cheese Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 medium white onion, sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar Cheese Whiz
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard

Directions

  1. Boil carrots, celery and green onions in water for 5 minutes. Sauté sliced white onions in margarine until just tender. Add flour to sautéed onions and then add milk and broth. Bring to a boil, stirring to avoid lumps, then add remaining ingredients. Stirring until Cheese Whiz melts. keep warm over low heat.
