Ingredients

  • 1 1-pound round loaf KING'S HAWAIIAN Sweet Bread
  • 1 1/2 cups finely shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1 cup pizza sauce, optional

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° degrees.

  2. Cut bread diagonally into 1-inch slices to within 1 inch of the bottom, being certain not to cut all the way through.

  3. Repeat cuts in opposite direction until you have 1 inch cubes of bread, still connected together at the base of the loaf.

  4. Distribute 1 cup of mozzarella cheese through the bread, stuff it down in between each cube.

  5. Do the same with the pepperoni.

  6. Mix together melted butter and oregano.

  7. Pour over the entire loaf of bread, evenly.

  8. Wrap the loaf in tin foil and place on a cookie sheet.

  9. Bake for 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

  10. Remove from the oven and unwrap from the tin foil.

  11. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the loaf.

  12. Place uncovered, under broiler in the oven on high for 2 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

  13. Serve as a pull apart bread with optional pizza sauce for dipping.
