Ingredients

  • 1 lb. venison loin
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (divided use)
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple (pears, cherries or other high acidic
  • fruits can be used), cored and sliced

Directions

  1. Mix together 1 tsp. of the garlic powder, along with the rest of the seasonings, in a small bowl. Pat the seasoning mixture into the venison loin.
  2. Heat a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil and brown the coated venison quickly on all sides.
  3. Spray the inside of your crock-pot with non-stick cooking spray and turn to high while browning the venison.
  4. Add the venison, sliced onion and sliced fruit, sprinkle with remaining garlic powder, cover then turn crock-pot to low.
  5. Cook for 6-8 hours. It will be fork tender. You can add a bit of flour to the juices in the crockpot to make gravy, but discard the onion and fruit first.
