Jimmy Dean Sausage Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. pkg. jimmy Dean Premium pork
  • sausage
  • 2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cups cornbread, toasted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (opt.)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cook sausage, celery and onion in large skillet over medium-high heat 8-10 min. or until sausage is thoroughly cooked; drain. Spoon into large bowl.

  2. Add cornbread, parsley and seasoning, mix lightly. Add in broth, egg and mix until blended. Stir in pecans.

  3. Spoon into lightly greased 2-quart casserole or soufflé dish; cover and bake 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated, uncovered after 35 minutes.

  4. To toast cornbread, bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes
