Fodmap Friendly Barbeque Sauce

Nice marinade for BBQ meats
Add to mince when making meatballs, or meat sauce for nachos

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 C red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 C hot water
  • 3 T brown sugar
  • 1 T Dijon mustard
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 t paprika
  • 1/2 t black pepper
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/2 t cayenne
  • 2 T cornflour mixed with 1/2 C cold water

Directions

  1. Mix cornflour with cold water and set aside.

  2. In heavy saucepan, combine water and brown sugar and stir until dissolved.

  3. Bring to boil over medium heat, cook 5 minutes.

  4. Add remaining ingredients, mix well.

  5. Return to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.

  6. Remove from heat, allow to cool to room temperature.

  7. Store unused sauce in airtight container up to one week, in refrigerator.
