Burgundy Apple Jelly

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bottled apple cider
  • 3/4 cup red dinner wine
  • 2 Tbsp. strained lemon juice
  • 1 pkg. (1 3/4oz.) powdered pectin
  • 5 cups sugar

Directions

  1. Ina large kettle, combine apple cider, wine, lemon juice and pectin, and heat to boiling. Stir in sugar, bring to a boil again, and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat, skim off any foam, and pour jelly at once into hot sterilized glasses. Cover with melted paraffin.
  2. makes 6 to 8 glasses
