Grape Conserve

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Concord grapes
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1cup broken walnuts

Directions

  1. Wash grapes and remove stems. Separate pulp and skins. Cook pulp until seeds are loosened; rub through sieve to remove seeds. Add water to skins and cook until tender. Squeeze orange and grind the peels. Combine grape pulp and skins, orange juice, peel and raisins. Cook until thick. Add sugar and cook again until thick. Add nuts, pour into clean hot glasses and seal.

  2. makes 5 (6 oz.) glasses
