Autumn harvest Relish

good with lamb curry

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped, firm ripe pared pears (2 to 3 Anjou, Bosc or Comice)
  • 1 cup golden seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup quartered maraschino cherries
  • 1 cup mild flavored honey
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Dash cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in heavy saucepan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, until covered, 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve warm or chilled with poultry, ham or pork.
  2. makes about 2 1/2 cups

  3. keeps one month in refrigerator.
