Fresh Pear Chutney

Ingredients

  • 3 medium firm ripe pears
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes, cut in half
  • 2 Tbsps. Dijon-style mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1/2 tsp. ground allspice

Directions

  1. Peel pears, core and cut into 1/2 inch pieces, toss with lemon juice. Add grapes, honey and mustard; mix well and set aside.
  2. heat oil in frying pan; add chopped onion and cook until wilted. Add raisins, mustard seed and allspice; stir until raisins are plump, about 5 minutes. Mix gently with fruit.
  3. Serve ware or at room temperature, or cover and chill overnight.
  4. makes 3 cups
