Green Tomato Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 quart green tomatoes, quartered
  • 2 cups onions, chopped
  • 3/4 cup hot peppers, chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Directions

  1. place tomatoes, onions and hot peppers in a large pan. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over tomatoes. Bring to boil. Remove from heat immediately and pit in sterile jars and seal.
  2. makes 4 quarts

  3. if you don’t like it real hot, use less hot peppers and replace them with sweet peppers.
