Trudy’s Cranberry Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups cranberries
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar or honey
  • Cream cheese and Triscuits (for serving)

Directions

  1. Place sugar, onion, garlic, cloves, cardamom, salt, vinegar, raisins and water in a saucepan and simmer 5 minutes.
  2. Add cranberries and brown sugar or honey and simmer 15 minutes more. Cool and refrigerate. Serve as an appetizer with cream cheese and crackers
