Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. ripe tomatoes
  • 1 lb. apples, chopped
  • 3 onions, chopped fine
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup seeded raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsps. cayenne

Directions

  1. Chop tomatoes and add the apples and onions. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until the chutney is thick and clear, stirring occasionally. Seal in hot sterilized jars.
  2. makes 5 pints
