Texas Chow Chow

Ingredients

  • 1 quart green tomatoes- peeled and chopped fine
  • 1 quart cabbage- chopped
  • 1 quart green and red pepper--chopped
  • 1 pint onions-- chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 pint vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. allspice

Directions

  1. Measure vegetables after running through food chopper. mix and add salt. Pour boiling water over and let stand 30 minutes.
  2. Drain out all water. Add sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and allspice. Boil 15 minutes.
  3. Seal in hot jars.
