Spicy Apple Mincemeat

Ingredients

  • 1 orange, cut into wedges; remove seeds
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges; remove seeds
  • 5 lbs. cooking apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 4 cups brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

  1. Assemble Food Grinder with coarse Disc. Place large pan under food grinder head. Grind orange, lemon, apples and raisins. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 40 minutes or until thickened. Ladle into hot 1/2 pint jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace; seal. Process in a boiling water bath 25 minutes.
