Spiced Plums

Ingredients

  • 5 lb. plums
  • 3 lbs. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. whole cloves
  • 1/2 Tbsp. whole allspice

Directions

  1. Wash plums and prick with a fork or large needle. Boil remaining ingredients together 5 minutes. Pour boiling syrup over plums. Let stand 3 days, then lift out plums, boil down syrup until quite thick, add plums and het to boiling. Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
  2. makes about 5 pints.
