Spiced Pears

Ingredients

  • 1 can (lb.) pear halves
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 2 Tbsp. crème de menthe
  • 2 drops green food coloring (optional)

Directions

  1. Drain pears, reserving syrup.
  2. Combine lemon juice, allspice and crème de menthe in a saucepan. Add syrup. Mix well. Cook over medium heat just until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
  3. Add food coloring to syrup mixture, if desired. Pour over pears. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
