Steak Marinade

(from Coker Family’s recipe box)

This is great!! Enough to marinade 4 steaks, you need to discard once used please.
This is just something I “throw” together and don’t even measure.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup vegetable or olive oil
  • Worcestershire sauce, as directed
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon unseasoned meat tenderizer (optional)

Directions

  1. TIP: If you are not sure your steaks are going to be tender…be sure to use the meat tenderizer.

  2. Measure into a 1 cup glass measuring cup. Start with the 1/3 cup oil…then pour in the Worcestershire sauce until the combination of the oil and Worcestershire reaches just a little over the 1/2 cup measuring line.

  3. Add liquid smoke, crushed garlic, pepper and tenderizer.

  4. Stir together well.

  5. Place steaks in a zip lock bag and pour marinade over the steaks…seal bag.

  6. Allow to soak in marinade about 20 minutes, no longer than 1 hour.

  7. Grill steaks to desired doneness…do not add any extra salt, garlic salt or pepper to your steaks while cooking as that was already in the marinade (the Worcestershire has lots of salt).
