Breakfast Casserole

Serves 12 people

Ingredients

  • 9-large eggs
  • 3-cups 2% milk
  • 4-tbsp salted butter (1/2 stick - melted)
  • 1/2 loaf french bread -or- 8 slices of Sourdough
  • 1-cup cooked hot sausage/ham/bacon/breakfast protein (8oz diced Ham)
  • 2-cups cheese (any - mixed - mexican shred style)
  • 1-tsp salt
  • 1/4-tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped/diced yellow Onion (Optional)

Directions

  1. In a 13×9 baking pan/dish, pan coat it, tear up the bread into bite size pieces and put one layer in the pan, loosely cover the bottom.

  2. Add cooked sausage/ham onto top of the bread, add optional onions, add a layer of cheese.

  3. Add eggs, milk, butter – beat it. Salt & pepper.

  4. Pour mixture in the pan, carefully drizzling every inch.

  5. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

  6. Cook covered at 350 degress farenheit for 50 minutes, remove from oven and cover with cheese. Bake for 10 more minutes.
