Hot Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. ripe tomatoes
  • 1 lb. apples, chopped
  • 3 onions, chopped fine
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup seeded raisins
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • 2 cloves garlic, crusted

Directions

  1. Chop tomatoes and add apples and onions. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until chutney is thick and clear, stirring occasionally.
  2. Seal it in hot sterilized jars.
