Microwave Bread and Butter Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups sliced peeled cucumbers
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. whole mustard seed
  • 1/4 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric

Directions

  1. In a 2- quart microwave-safe bowl, combine all ingredients, cover and microwave on high for 8 to 10 minutes or until cucumbers
  2. are crisp-tender, stirring twice. Ladle into glass jars or plastic storage containers and refrigerate up to 1 month.

  3. makes about 2 1/2 cups
